Lysander Statblock

Lysander is the Master of Melancholic Ambition and Illusions of Grandeur, commanding attention and manipulating the narrative of the Darlingverse through smooth lies and powerful arcane charm.

Core Stats & Proficiencies

Combat & Tactical

  • Weapon: The Bitter Verdict (Rapier +1) (Melee Attack)
    • Attack: +10 to hit, Reach 5 ft., one target.
    • Damage: 1d8 + 6 Piercing damage (+10 to cursed)
  • Hexblade's Curse (Bonus Action):, Choose one target within 30 ft to receive the Hexblade's Curse. (1/Short Rest)
    • (Passive) Lysander adds his Proficiency Bonus (+4) to damage rolls against the target for 1 minute.
    • (Passive) Lysander's crit range increases by one (e.g. 19-20 instead of 20).
    • (Reaction) If cursed target hits a target within 15 ft of Lysander with an attack roll, he can use his reaction to roll a d6. On a 4 or higher, the attack instead misses, regardless of its roll. If Lysander has more than one reaction, he can make additional attempts as long as he has reactions.
    • (Kill) If the cursed target dies, Lysander regains 11 hit points.
  • Extra Attack: Lysander can attack twice when using the Attack action with his Pact Weapon. If he makes at least one Pact Weapon attack, he can replace the second attack with casting a spell that has action, bonus action or reaction as casting time.
  • Stolen Spotlight (Passive): Lysander takes up space on the scene and gains the ability to react more vigorously. When rolling initiative while Lysander is not surprised or unconscious, he gains one One-Use Reaction that he can use before the end of combat.
  • Bardic Inspiration (Bonus Action): Lysander can use a bonus action to grant a creature a 1d8 Bardic Inspiration die to add to one Attack Roll, Ability Check, or Saving Throw within 10 minutes. (5/Short or Long Rest)
  • Cutting Words (Reaction): Lysander spends one Bardic Inspiration die (d8) to subtract the result from a creature's attack roll, damage roll, or ability check.
  • Quick or Grand Spotlight (Special): Once per round, Lysander can choose one of the following options (select one): Quick Spotlight (Bonus Action) or Grand Spotlight (Action). He rends his own mind to slow time and improve his acuity. When using this action, Lysander takes 1d6 psychic damage and gain 1 temporary level of exhaustion that disappears at the end of his next turn.
    • Quick Spotlight (Bonus Action): gaining two One-Use Reactions that remains until used or the end of combat.
    • Grand Spotlight (Action): gaining three One-Use Reactions that remains until used or the end of combat.
  • Last Resort (Free Reaction*): If Lysander has no One-Use or normal reactions left, he can still make one Last Resort reaction, but immediately after that reaction is completed he first takes 3d6 psychic damage, then 2d6 necrotic damage, and then falls unconscious until the end of his next turn.

Spellcasting

  • Spell Save DC (Warlock/Bard): 17
  • Spell Attack Modifier (Warlock/Bard): +9
  • Cantrips: Eldritch Blast (3 beams, 1d10 + 5 force damage per beam), Friends, Vicious Mockery (2d4 Psychic damage, disadvantage on next attack), Prestidigitation.
  • Warlock Spell Slots: Two (2) 3rd-level Warlock Spell Slots (recover on Short Rest).
  • Warlock Spells Known: Hex, Misty Step, Hypnotic Pattern, Counterspell.
  • Invocations:
    • Agonizing Blast: When casting Eldritch Blast, Lysander adds his CHA modifier (+5) to the damage roll.
    • Thirsting Blade: Allows Lysander to attack twice with his Pact Weapon.
  • Bard Spells:
    • 1st Level (4): Charm Person, Cure Wounds, Faerie Fire, Silvery Barbs
    • 2nd Level (3): Invisibility, Lesser Restoration


Darlingverse Stabilization

These abilities focus on restoring ambition, removing gloom, and manipulating negative mental narratives.

1. Minor Stabilization: Narrative Spin (Bonus Action or Reaction)

  • Requirement: Lysander must be able to see an ally or a foe within 30 ft. Reaction if a check or an attack is rolled.
  • Effect: Lysander alters the perception of a situation. He grants an ally within range Advantage on their next Ability Check or Saving Throw as the perceived risk is diminished. Alternatively, he can target a foe, who must succeed on a DC 17 Wisdom save or suffer Disadvantage on its next attack roll as its target suddenly seems vaguely less important.

2. Major Stabilization: Forge the Golden Path (Action & 1 Minute Concentration)

  • Requirement: Lysander must expend a spell slot (2nd level or higher) and deliver a grand, rousing speech for the duration.
  • Effect: Lysander rewrites the local mental narrative, banishing crippling doubt. When casting and at the start of Lysander's consecutive turns, all friendly creatures within a 40-foot radius gain Temporary HP equal to 1d6 + 5. If Lysander maintains concentration for a full minute, the ritual permanently banishes all despair and gloom from the area, granting all allies within the radius advantage on Saving Throws against the Frightened condition until the next long rest. After using this ability, Lysander needs to rest for at least 10 minutes before using it again.
